Oops, I am not writing a grant application, so a better description is one of the best holidays you can have, and money is generally available to help you take this holiday. Definitely an goal for the end of your first years caving.
Anyway for the last few years some of the UBSS have joined CUCC on the long running expedition to Austria, I have been more than 10 times now, it is addictive. Next Tuesday I will be doing a whirlwind tour of its history, and Stuart Walker will be telling you about his first experience this year. If Simon gets organised with the shot glasses there will be some traditional Austrian beverage, and for the non drivers Chocolate Truffles.
Anyway to wet your appetite it is well worth reading a piece by Wookey, as to why he keeps going, and he has been more often than me!!
It is on page 108 (according to the electronic numbering) and 106 in print. too.

For those who don't know, this means massive gathering of all the UK student caving clubs for a massive weekend of caving, drinking, games, training, drinking, music and drinking.
Obviously we shall have to show all those northern cavers how real caving is done, so expecting big club presence.
T-shirt competition already open, start designing to get the chance of displaying your design talents to all of the caving world, and be in with a chance of winning some great kit!
Other competitions will probably include a fresher's first trip report, photo competitions, club poster, beer pong, saucepan and sling and all the usual.
