Events diary
Most importantly we meet pretty much every week in the Coach and Horses pub, Highland Square. It is here that trips are planned and beer is drunk. Below is a list of the more major trips we're planning. SRT training will be announced via email or bychatting to us in the pub.

4th Feb 2012 - Wales Weekend

Location: Godre Pentre, Ystradfellte

Details: We shall be staying at the Croydon Caving Club Hut (tbc) and visiting some of Wales' most spectacular river caves, Daren and Draenen, and for those of you feeling a little less adventurous, Big Pit Mine!

17th Feb 2012 - Awesome Yorkshire Weekend

Details: We're going up to Yorkshire for some awesome SRT. So say goodbye to horizontal and hello vertical! We'll be staying at the Northern Pennines Club hut (tbc), approximately 5 mins (by car) from Clapham.
We've booked permits for some of the most spectacular caves in the Dales, so make sure you don't miss out.

25th Feb 2012 - Cave Rescue Training (Mendip)

10th Mar 2012 - Annual General Meeting (AGM)
End date: 11th Mar 2012
Location: Bristol
Start time: 13:00
Details: AGM in Bristol. Meeting in the stables (time tbc), with special guest speaker, Dick Willis, talking to us about his various caving exploits from around the world! Followed by our formal meal (venue tbc - but most probably No.4 Restaurant, Bristol).

16th Mar 2012 - Basic SRT training
End date: 18th Mar 2012
Location: Wessex cave club, Mendip. Could stay in our hut and join them during the day if being stingy.
Details: CHECC (council of higher education caving clubs, for those who have never gotten drunk with them before)are planning a basic SRT training weekend, staying at the wessex (on mendip, near the Hunter's)and doing basic skills on their tower saturday then underground practice sunday.
Contact me if you're interested in joining as a student, or if anyone more experienced wants to come along to help train/lead sunday trips the help would be very much appreciated!Obv feel free to come out just for the beer too if you like. Excellent opportunity for lazy cavers as plenty of opportunities to drink and no hard caving. As long as you can lead trips safely in hungover state.

23rd Mar 2012 - Dirty Derbyshire Weekend

Location: Castleton, Derbyshire

Details: A filthy weekend in Derbyshire, with everyone going down on Britain's largest shaft (with the possibility of coming out of the Devil's Arse)!
Hopefully this will be a joint weekend with SUSS, staying at the TSG in Castleton.

Details: We shall have our lovely stall up and running this year at Fresher's fair as per usual, complete with squeeze machine (where prizes can be won for being really skinny/ prepared to withstand pain and get many bruises for minimal gain).

15th Oct 2011 - Fresher's Weekend

Details: An introductory weekend of fun and frolics including bonfire and real ales and ciders (yes, definitely happening as Theresa booked flights to come back for it on the basis that I sorted this!) and some nice beginnerish caving, at our very own hut on mendip.

29th Oct 2011 - Wales Weekend

Details: SWCC, a lovely large caving hut in south wales has been booked for what will probably be a nice sociable weekend with other caving clubs knocking about too, and luxury facilities like multiple hot showers!!!

There'll still be plenty of newbie caving suitable for complete beginners going on, with a few more difficult trips for those who think they're 'ard enough.
12th Nov 2011 - Bonfire Weekend!

Details: BIIIIIIIIIIIG Bonfire, fireworks, and the full kit and caboodle for a massive weekend where we're joined at our hut in Mendip by other university club(s) for lots of attempted campfire cookery, beer and possibly even a spot of caving.

Location: Dalebridge Centre, Yorkshire
Details: The chaos that is all the university caving clubs countrywide getting together in Yorkshire for partying, drinking and caving. Involves various prestigious events to win honour for your club, such as beer pong, saucepan and sling and of course the fancy dress competition.

Those who groan in tents all day rather than caving frowned upon but accepted. Us hardcore get smashed AND cave. And those who just drink diet coke accepted too of course (as long as you accept you may be in the minority :P)
9th Dec 2011 - Christmas Dinner Weekend

Location: UBSS hut, Burrington Coombe
Details: Back to our hut for the last weekend of the year, where we'll order the best and most enormous takeaway you've ever had as we get all the roast dinners in foil pots from the local pub. Mulled wine, mince pies, and secret santa all add to the celebrations.

28th Jan 2012 - Mendip Weekend (Post-exams)

Details: Post exam weekend in the Mendips staying at the UBSS hut. We shall be exploring some of the lesser visited caves in Mendip (so hopefully no East Water or Swildons!).
